Jean Charest and the 2012 Quebec elections

Minister Michelle Courchesne has broken off negotiations with the students Thursday, May 31 at 4:10 p.m.. The announcement of elections by Jean Charest had to follow, according to several observers, but it was not the case...
Many believed that the prime minister would announce elections during the press conference that followed the breakdown of negotiations but he did not. However, he refused to say that there would be NO summer elections, adding there would be a popular vote within 18 months ... Stay tuned!

Anonymous - Urban Legend

Anonymous movement is among us... In fact, the myth only because in reality this movement is rather part of the urban legend and his power is very virtual.
The documents released so far have nothing on the scale and seriousness of those disclosed by Wikileak as external sources were what made the movement very powerful and dangerous. Anonymous is reminiscent of the Black Block. It is a philosophy more than a real organization. The greatest danger of Anonymous is the real possibility in their group to paralyze some websites but their power comes from the low-power servers of their targets. Moreover, Anonymous warn their fans that their technology will not work on large sites like Google and Facebook...
Regarding the F1 Grand Prix of Canada, this is not the site of the event which was penetrated, but the one of a small external reseller. Several site managers of companies or governments will not invest to make their site safe and sound. Just remember the humiliating failure of the Government of France whose tourist had fallen the day of its launch in July 2010 because the servers were far too weak for public use.
CONCLUSION: Caution and prevention is always appreciated and we must, above all, securely lock our doors at night before going to bed because otherwise the bad Anonymous wolves are watching you.

The War of the Quebec students...

The joy of warriors ... and victory!
The only real solution to the students crisis would be elections and, on the ballot, a specific question about Tuition Increase / yes or no. A sort of two for one: Election+ Referendum.
Also the Charest Government is starting to play strategy as he has called student associations at different times... Leo Blouin was summoned at 2 pm and Martine Desjardins and Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois at 3 pm (Wednesday, May 30) .
Stay tuned!

Jean Charest would trigger elections on Friday June 1st for a vote next Monday, July 9, 2012...

The possibility of a general Quebec Election call this Friday 1st June for a July 9 vote is more and more accurate. First the source of the rumor: there are two political columnists very close to the Liberals who circulate the information: Lisa Frulla Hebert and Jean Lapierre. Then, Jean Charest will meet with his deputies to dinner Wednesday night in Quebec City for a special meeting. Third, the police arrested the two negotiators of CLASSE when they left the negotiations building yesterday and police also refused to heed the call of Leo Bureau Blouin not to arrest other peaceful demonstrators on the spot. A sign that many describe as provocation by the government who would not intend to enter into an agreement. Jean Charest attended the negotiations for about thirty minutes Monday afternoon. To be continued from today at 1pm (Tuesday, May 29, 2012).

The grande dame of Montreal hotels, The Ritz, is back in town! It was to leave us for a year in 2008 but it has been absent for four years... The renovations cost more than $ 200 million. The selling point of the new direction: "If you rent a 5 star $ 250 a night it's not a 5 star. The Ritz will rent his rooms from $ 425 a night minimum and it will be a TRUE 5 stars ..." to declare the general manager. Photo 1: and 2: The Ritz in Montreal;

C2- MTL 2012 / Congress on creativity ...

By Bernard Bujold ( -
What impressed most at the conference C2-MTL presented in Montreal from May 22 to 25, 2012 was the number of prestigious sponsors. More than 40 major companies showed the title sponsor of the event. Then there was the price of the conference between $ 2.800 and $ 1.500$. Finally, there was of course the name of Frank Coppola on the list of speakers ...
The event brought together about 1000 participants and the theme was "creativity".
Personally, I enjoyed the scenery and the robot spider but I have not been impressed by the lectures and I have not learned how to be more creative. The event reminded me of the first conference of Bill Clinton presented in Montreal a few years ago when it was the fury of the time in Montreal. In 2012, the fury of the time it is the student protests... Moreover, some visitors to the C2-MTL promised to attend as an observer at the students protests to see a little bit the feeling of the demonstration.
It should be noted that Quebec will host in the coming weeks many major events including the most prestigious F1 Grand Prix and the Global Forum on the French language in Quebec from July 2 to 6. C2-MTL has been a sort of introduction, opening cocktail kind.
Stay tuned.

Jean Charest prepares to depart political life ...

By Bernard Bujold ( -
My prediction as of May 24, 2012 is as follows: "Jean Charest will announce its final withdrawal from political life by the next day and the Liberal Party will hold a leadership convention to late summer and elections will be held probably in spring 2013 or to end in December 2012.
The bets are open!
Proof that there is a movement towards the exit for Jean Charest: the former right-hand Monique Jerôme Forget said that the Prime Minister should had to talk to students. This statement is another sign that the Liberal Party is in a change mode. The question: Who will be the next leader?

Minister of Finance (2007-2009), President of the Treasury Board (2003-2008) under the Liberal government of Jean Charest.
"Frankly, I have no solution except to start over. Humility has its virtues, sometimes you have to retreat, but the government does not recede completely. Three beautiful young people who represent the students are very talented, but they do not have to be a trade negotiator and they are now learning. If I were the Prime Minister, I would call the three young, he should meet them. Why does not he? I do not know. The government is currently caught in this crisis, I know they are there and there's nothing else on the agenda. I'm like everyone else, very shaken, because our youth, we can not beat them, it is our future, our wealth, we love, we want them to succeed. Is that only an election could fix it? I do not know. I was approached for mediation, I look both speakable and on the government side. It should have been settled there two months ago. Throwing stuff away gets dirty. "

The solution to the conflict of Quebec students: a fishing trip or a call to the superhero Batman ...

By Bernard Bujold ( -
There is a way of resolving all disputes on the earth when willing to apply it! Just go fishing to reconnect with nature and especially our true nature to everyone.
The solution to the crisis of Quebec students could therefore reside in a weekend of fishing between Jean Charest, all his ministers, student leaders and maybe even some policemen. According to me the group would come back united as ever and a new friendship would have taken place. If not, well we should resolve then to appeal to the superhero Batman...
The girl who fishes on the photo above represent the calm in the city but the same city also contains the fire and destruction. The spirit of violence is present in the heart of the city of Montreal as well as the spirit of beauty. There is in the same spirit in all the cities: good and evil, yin and yang, beauty and ugliness, health and disease. Life is one of the two sides which takes over and becomes reality. Darkness or light. A bit like in the movies of Batman...

Leo Bureau-Blouin and the Manifestation of May 22, 2012 ...

Leo Bureau-Blouin is a very popular student leader and is adored by the crowd ...
You should have seen him being cheered by the marchers of May 22, 2012 on Festival Plaza in front of Montreal's theater district to see the success of Leo. When he greets people who come to talk to him, he smile tireless and he looks like a head of state. You can almost believe he is a young government minister. Over 200,000 people gathered to protest in the streets against the government of Jean Charest.

The journalist André Pratte (La Presse) is criticized by readers ...

By Bernard Bujold ( -
If there is a danger of boarding a sinking ship, that is sinking with it...
For some reason, André Pratte of La Presse tirelessly supported Jean Charest as an editor. Personally I do not mind because I jumped over his articles but for other readers, this is a valid reason to stop reading La Presse. Patrick Lagacé has tried to explain in his column that there are many other journalists to read in his daily, beyond Pratte, however many readers are very critical in the majority of 165 comments. In addition to demand the resignation of Jean Charest, readers of La Presse are now demanding the resignation of Andre Pratte!

Amir Khadir and the love of people

Amir Khadir is like a missionary of the Belle Epoque. He believes in the importance of the individual and he has at heart to convince. He could also be compared to René Lévesque because of his humanistic and democratic side and his love for the people of Quebec. It is impossible to say whether he will achieve his dream of becoming Premier of Quebec, but one thing is certain: he works fiercely and passionately. Jean Charest must call a Provincial Election in Quebec

By Bernard Bujold ( -
Violence in Montreal reached highs with demonstrations Sunday night (May 20, 2012) which lasted all night and with more 300 arrests. The rebels dispute the decisions of government Jean Charest and are asking his immediate resignation.
After 27 consecutive nights of violent protest it is questionable how long will Jean Charest held up as Premier of Quebec even if he say that he do not intend to call a general election and that he intends to remain in office...
The strategy of the students and the organized labor is increasingly obvious and, admittedly, well thought out! They are moving the debate from tuition fees to a debate focused instead on the resignation of Jean Charest. This is what is called in public relations: finding the right "spin". The strategy is very smart because if the people support the tuition increase by nearly 70%, polls also show that the population does not support Jean Charest as Prime Minister in the same proportion of about 70%. It is therefore appropriate to conclude that the degree of adhesion calling for his resignation will take a swing and especially progressive. For the Liberal Government the situation becomes complicated because you can state that students are too demanding, but one can not criticize someone who says he does not love you ...
It will have to be seen but if the escalation of protest against Charest continues upward, he will have to call an election by the next few days to stop the protest. This is the only solution!
To be continued.

Jean Charest and the Election Train...

One could say that Jean Charest train is now in the station ...
Jean Charest is in many ways like Robert Bourassa in 1970 and he lost control. We live the situation of 1970 in 2012 with the escalating civil violence and the bill back to school is like the War Measures under Trudeau and Bourassa.
I know quite well Jean Charest that I have encountered in 1984 (Mulroney) and later in 2008 I was able to learn more about the character of the man as I hung in Bromont (Pierre Paradis).
Charest takes very bad being contradicted. He was to be Prime Minister of Canada but Kim Campbell robbed him of the title. He agreed to replace his goal by a challenge that was of lesser importance by being "only" Premier of Quebec. He lost his first election in 1998 and in 2003, the allies of Pierre Paradis and Yves Séguin expected him to fall again in order to take his place... Charest was lucky and won. He was frustrated, however, and he quickly removed the Paradis and Seguin.
Today he is very frustrated by the success of the students in the popular opinion and he want to eliminate them. Probably it will be his Waterloo as Charest is in trouble within his own political team including several members who expect him to fall to take his place but nobody has the courage to fight the first by fear of failing and being the victim up off the train...
In conclusion, the train of war is started to the next general election in Quebec.
Stay tuned!

Spring cleaning in politics from Frank Zampino to Jean Charest

The former number two of the administration of the City of Montreal Frank Zampino was arrested this morning Thursday May 17,  (6:00 am) by the squad embezzlement.
The provincial Liberal government has reason to worry because the Charbonneau investigation on Quebec construction could have the same consequences as the Gomery inquiry at the federal level. For the Quebec Liberal Party, the situation is sensitive because their majority is 63 against 59 and three seats are vacant. Elections are required to be held before September 8, 2013. Zampino's arrest could be the beginning of the collapse of political power in Quebec as was the sponsorship scandal in Ottawa. The squad "Hammer" is the precursor of the Commission Charbonneau.
Students would be well advised to form a party and it could become the official opposition, perhaps even be the government as the ADQ had almost been in 2007 with 41 members of the ADQ and leader Mario Dumont. A scenario repeated in 2011 by Jack Layton at the federal level. The leader of the students could be Leo Bureau-Blouin. Stay tuned!
